Potpourri (no, not the dried flowers)

Snippets of my life: 

• I have recently discovered that my mother has acquired, for the first time in her life, an e-mail address. Does that mean she will be reading my blog? Will she be Googling me? If so, ¡hola mami! ¡Te quiero mucho!
• I recently landed, completed, and submitted a proofreading assignment with a returning client. See my previous post about the cycle of nerves and anxiety and cockiness and exhaustion.  It shall be repeated in the future with another assignment I got coming up.
• I got two phone calls today from folks requesting my interpreting services. I had to pass one assignment, as it was located out of town.  Fortunately, I was able to take the second assignment. Now, all I got to do is to educate myself on terms commonly found on cases like that.
• Speaking of which, I need to find something to wear that is appropriate for the legal environment.  The last time I had to dress up, I had to improvise with a blue blazer and a black skirt of unflattering length. And…panty hose. Ugh. At least I can justify a shopping trip.
